Additional Offerings
Pounamu (Greenstone)
Exclusive to our Waka and Walking Tours is the opportunity for visitors to purchase pounamu (greenstone), not available to public. We offer unique raw pounamu as opposed to manufactured pounamu. Visitors hear the kōrero (story) of its significance, why it is a taonga (highly prized), why and how to gift them. All pounamu that is purchased are blessed and presented as part of the tour.
Kai (Food)
A great accompaniment to our tours is for visitors to enjoy a Māori inspired lunch or dinner at our onsite venue, Karaka Café. Try the café version of traditional Māori hangi with pork, kūmara, pumpkin, potato, watercress, pork jus, and with Māori rewena bread, and kawakawa tea, it’s a delicious and fabulous way to finish your meal.
Merchandise
Many of our gifts feature indigenous Māori art created exclusively by artist Taupuruariki Brightwell as a taonga (treasure) for you our manuhiri (visitors) to Wellington and Aotearoa. Support us to provide further educational opportunities for our rangatahi and the wider community as we share in the rich culture and history of Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) and the Te Ātiawa/Taranaki Whānui (tribe).
